Sherlock Holmes The Dark Detective (Claws of the Chimera) – series out from September 2024!

Sherlock Holmes – Dark Detective Vol 1: Claws of the Chimera (#1 of 4)

IPI Comics is excited to announce the return of one of the most lauded, original takes on Sherlock Holmes in comic-book form—now for the first time offered in the US and internationally in the single issue print comics form, with never-before added bonuses! A truly ‘Hammer Horror-esque’ version of the most sinister period in Holmes and Watson’s careers!

Every issue features extra material on top of the full comic episode by Holmes expert Christopher Sequeira: this first issue features a gripping prose story revealing the truth about celebrated famous Holmes case The Sign of The Four, and an article by Sequeira and his wife, writer Jacqueline Sequeira (Dracula Unbound; Sherlock Holmes of Baking Street) is Holmesian scholarship lifting the lid on the connection between Holmes and Wilkie Collins’s famous novel The Moonstone! Each issue of this series will follow this chocker-block format!

“This comic series will be loved by several readership demographics,” said Christopher Sequeira, Director of Comics and Graphic Novels, as well as scriptwriter/co-creator (with Oscar-Winner Dave Elsey) of this series, “including fans of the Sherlock Holmes phenomenon, Victorian-era adventure, and dark fantasy/horror genres and subgenres. In other words, practically everyone, and not just we fans of the world’s greatest detective! With complete Holmes aficionados like me, Dave, and the world-respected Philip Cornell on art (with an assist this issue from Jan Scherpenhuizen), you know the Conan (Doyle) Canon is in sincere, dedicated hands. And with all the new extras, well, you know you need this series on your comics pull-list!”

That sounds great, guys! Please let me know when The Human Fly comic book released on July. He is one my favorite heroes back in the day! I see the best in the Human Fly character! He is very strong, tough, very smart, skillful fighter with martial arts and more!

    1. Hi Darren – it has already been released. Comic stores, worldwide, had the opportunity to stock up with them. If yours hasn’t you might want to see if there is any overprint available. Thanks for the positive words! Gerry

    1. Noted, Jeff. We didn’t like it either but when you print comic books the page count has to be divisible by 8. That meant we would need to fill 8 extra pages. We anticipate bigger font and more space in our future books. Very much appreciate your feedback.
