You will notice that we placed a red circle around the Krenek home. For The Matron 3 die-cut variant cover the home is drawn on the page behind, and the front cover has a die-cut that allows the reader to see the cabin. The fun part of die-cut covers is when the front cover is opened, a cool and/or surprising scene is revealed – in the case of The Matron V3 cover, there will be a very different scene around the Krenek home. It is currently a mystery to all bar our creative team.

To celebrate the availability of this very, very cool variant reward, we have an impromptu competition:

• Fill out the form below, with two important actions:
  • Subscribe to IPI Comic’s newsletter subscription list (automatic with submission), and
  • Describe what you think is illustrated on the revealed, second page.
• You have until the completion of our Kickstarter (Thursday, September 17 2026 10:15 PM AEST), to enter this competition.
• The one and only winner (closest description to what the scene depicts) will be announced just prior to Kickstarter rewards shipping out.
• The winner will be contacted and will get any or all of Matron v1-v3 graphic novels including variants. This means any number up to 8 trades will be shipped to the winner.
